Welcome to selfcare essentials by Liz health & wellness coaching!

WHY SELF CARE?
Self care, which is a part of health and wellness, has been viewed as selfish or financially unattainable. Self care is not about expensive indulgences, it is a journey towards holistic health and wellness. As a certified health and wellness coach, I have the skills and training to serve as a guide and a resource for people that desire to achieve their optimum health from the inside out.

SOUL CARE IS SELF CARE
In addition to being a holistic nurse and a certified health and wellness coach, I am a Christian. My depth of knowledge about how untreated or under treated stress affects every aspect of our being, coupled with my theological perspective on self care fuels my passion to educate people about the importance of caring for the mind, body, soul/spirit, and help implement self care practices in accordance with the word of God, This is the basis for how I practice holistic health and wellness coaching. Scripture reveals to us the need for the human body to seek wholeness, (2 Corinthians 7:1), and reap of its benefits (Proverbs 18:14).

EMBRACE TRANSFORMATION
To be healthy from a holistic perspective requires intentionality and a commitment to embrace transformation In our journey towards wellness, we experience a metamorphosis, a process where we battle with our unattractiveness and our weaknesses. Hence our logo of the butterfly. Our process of transformation is not meant to weaken us, but to strengthen us and reveal our beautiful purpose. According to Ecclesiastes 3:11 "God makes everything beautiful in its season." Do not be intimidated by transformation, embrace it, and enjoy a better quality of life.

What is a Holistic health & wellness coach?

As a health and wellness coach, I work to develop trusting relationships with clients and a safe space where they feel supported and empowered. In this partnership, the client, not the coach, will decide what health and wellness goals are important and what pace works for the client. As the coach, I assist the client in identifying their personal strengths and challenges as well as self-management strategies that will help them make sustainable, healthy lifestyle and behavior changes.

As a holistic nurse, I nurture the whole person by respecting the client's uniqueness, embracing their cultural diversity, and honoring each person’s values, health beliefs and health experience. In addition, I work with the client to address any obstacles that may be hindering their overall wellbeing, focusing on six (6) aspects of holistic wellness: mental, emotional, financial, relational, physical, and spiritual

Not only do I use a client-centered approach, I strive to create a Christ-centered milieu. Spiritual disciplines such as prayer and reading of biblical scriptures are an important aspect of the coaching experience. Clients do not have to be Christian, but should have a willingness to participate, an ear to hear and a heart to receive what the Holy Spirit wants to do during each coaching session.
